I am an artist and designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
ABOUT MAIA'S ARTWORK:
In my art practice, I utilize analog mediums/techniques (such as abstract painting and mark-making, paper-collage, printmaking, and hand-lettering), as well as digital software. My artwork explores the connection between human and 'machine'. I draw inspiration from nature, vintage aesthetics, and historical ornamentations. My palette balances earthy tones, jewel hues, and playful brights.
I hold a BA in Digital Media and Fine Art from Pitzer College. My background includes graphic design, business operations, and art instruction.
At the core of my work is a love of shape, pattern and color. I hold a strong belief in the resilience of the human spirit, and am passionate about encouraging others to pursue a life full of joy.

In addition to my fine art practice, I also work as a freelance graphic designer based in the SF Bay Area, CA. I am passionate about print design and love creating marketing materials, logos, business cards, and book layouts. I have worked with small and large companies, individuals and non-profits, retail stores and B2B companies, and more! I would describe my design style as colorful and bold, with careful attention to detail, composition, and typography. When I am designing, I always strive to create eye-catching graphic communications that are sure to hook your audience.
